Hardware User Guides
We produce hardware user guides for a wide range of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment. They are designed to provide all the information needed to understand what the equipment can do, and to operate it safely and effectively.

Our general approach is to provide a comprehensive overview of the equipment for initial familiarisation, and to structure operating information under active (i.e. how-to) headings that reflect the real-life operations users will want to perform. Where possible, step-by-step instructions are used for procedural information, with explanatory text, notes, warnings, cautions, etc, provided at appropriate points. Where relevant, we provide supporting photographs, illustrations and diagrams - annotated as necessary. In some instances we have produced guides that are wholly graphical.

We aim to make user guides as concise, relevant and easy to use as possible.

Unless working to existing standards, we define the structure and content for each guide after the initial information-gathering is complete. Where possible this is carried out by hands-on experience of using the equipment; this helps us to ensure that the proposed arrangement of information is logical and appropriate.
