On-line Help
We produce online help systems to deliver specific, relevant information to users of your applications any time they need it. Depending on the chosen help format, we can incorporate the full range of help system features including:
  • context-sensitivity
  • hypertext links to pop-ups, to other topics and to other help systems and applications
  • animated text
  • animated graphics and other dynamic elements
  • the ability to play sound and video files
  • hypergraphics (i.e. graphics with hyperlinks to pop-ups or to other topics)
  • various options for presentation such as use of main and secondary windows in various default sizes and positions, use of colour, watermarks, splash screens, etc.
  • index and text-search facilities
As a general rule, people use online help for assistance or instructions on how to perform specific, identifiable tasks. We ensure that our help systems fully support this by structuring them according to the jobs people will wish to do and by using active (i.e. how to) topic headings related to those jobs. We also provide comprehensive indexes, extensive hypertext cross-referencing, and plenty of background explanatory information where it’s needed. As a result, users can locate the information they need easily and quickly, and use it effectively. Any system that does not achieve those objectives is not worthy of the description ‘help’.

If you have existing paper documentation, we can use this as the basis for online help. Alternatively we can create the help system from scratch.
