We provide bespoke training material to organisations in various disciplines, generally for internal training programs concerning such matters as company procedures, use of equipment and systems and operation of new software. The material can take many forms, ranging from course notes for trainers and trainees, to fully-structured training manuals and self-paced learning packages.
When we design training material, we take full account of the particular circumstances of use, including:
- the complexity and novelty of the subject.
- trainees' prior knowledge and experience.
- overall time, and individual time periods available for training.
- availability of other sources of information (e.g. help desk, other staff, etc.).
- availability of back-up and support material such as quick reference guides.
- likely trainee attitudes.
Material is then designed to deliver, or support, the training in the most effective and convenient manner.
Our material is always thoroughly researched before the course is written and we test every one of the training programmes to ensure that the information is not only technically correct, but is also logical and easy to follow.
As far as is possible, each component is structured such that pre-requisites are listed, and the learning objectives are fully defined. Where relevant, step-by-step instructions are provided, showing the trainee exactly what to do and what results to expect. Worked examples and procedures are supported, as appropriate, by explanatory information, screen captures, photographic sequences or other forms of illustration. Particularly in the case of self-teach material, we generally include review and self-test sections enabling trainees to check their progress objectively.
